Brightgums GUMS Procedure: A Safe and Effective Solution for Your Dental Needs
Introducing the Brightgums GUMS Procedure: A Safe and Effective Solution for Your Dental Needs
Known as black triangles, the dentoalveolar process loss is an often-ignore consequence of gum disease. The loss begins to progress when bacteria seeps into bone crevices, so much so that it eventually may lead to tooth loss. To address this issue, our team devise a dental tool that could eliminate bacteria, help reshape jaw bones to lower the risk for bacterial growth in bone crevices, regenerate damage bones and tissues, prevent tooth loss by the Brightgums GUMS Procedure. Furthermore, by eliminating bacteria and infection throughout our patient’s mouths we will also see their gums shrink back from their teeth thereby preventing tooth loss in addition to reducing gum gaps between teeth.
How does it work?
If you’re an adult, this is a simple in-office procedure that takes less than two hours. The doctor will administer a local anesthetic to your gum tissue. Then they will insert small microshades (color or clear) into your gums. Once they’re in place, they use gentle suction and then guide you through some mouth exercises to reshape your jaw hone while placing new restorations in certain areas of the mouth where need. This reshaping of your jaw hone will lower the risk for bacterial growth in bone crevices, eliminate bacteria and infection, grow damage bones and tissues, prevent tooth loss, reduce gum gaps between teeth
Why does it work?
Dentists have traditionally relied on a toothbrush to clean teeth. In fact, this invention is so ubiquitous in our lives that it has come to be known as a toothbrush. Dentists began using brushes many years ago because they found them more effective than bare hands at getting between teeth and gums, cleaning around implants, fighting plaque, controlling bacteria, reducing dental disease risks such as heart disease and even cognitive disorders! Recent research has shown that the effectiveness of a traditional toothbrush may not last over time because bristles become worn out or aren’t shape right to get all of the hard-to-reach spots.
What are the best products to use?
The use of peroxide can lead to increase sensitivity, which has been shown to be reduce by using a protective layer such as wax or petroleum jelly. One study has shown that participants who rinse with a salt solution after toothbrushing will have fewer cavities than those who do not. A mouthwash with fluoride can help prevent tooth decay, but does not necessarily remove bacteria and plaque from teeth surfaces due to their effectiveness in killing bacteria through topical contact. In addition, the use of an electric toothbrush can also help minimize plaque and bacterial growth due to its ability to better clean hard-to-reach areas in your mouth
Is this procedure right for me?
If you’re not sure if our treatment is right for you, talk to your dentist. Here are some of the benefits of our innovative procedure:
- less pain
- minimal time in dental chair or hospital room
- restoration of lost tooth tissue – preventing tooth loss
- improve chewing ability – reducing gum gaps between teeth – reshaping the jaw hone to lower it risk for bacterial growth in bone crevices.
How long will I have to wear the trays?
At our first visit, we’ll take a series of impressions of your teeth. These impressions are then sent to our lab where they’re scanne, so it can create a 3D model of your mouth. Our dentist will also use this model to determine which aligners you’ll need for treatment. Then, once the trays are create, you’ll have to wear them every night from 10pm until 6am.
What can I expect during my visit?
Your first visit will include a thorough oral exam to make sure everything is in place. We will then use our microabrasion procedure to remove the plaque that has built up over time. The microabrasion will also help eliminate bacteria and infection by gently removing any build-up around your teeth, gums, or jaw. With that out of the way, we’ll reshape your jaw hone to lower the risk for bacterial growth in bone crevices. Along with preventing tooth loss, repairing damage bones and tissues, reducing gum gaps between teeth, this treatment provides healthier skin cells by delivering live bovine serum proteins which can stimulate new collagen growth.
Are there any alternatives to this procedure?
Dentists can use tooth-color fillings, inlays, or crowns to patch up problem areas. Unfortunately, these options take longer to perform and are more expensive. In addition, they are likely to require follow-up treatments in the future. For example, a tooth filling is cement into place over a cavity’s opening before it is cover with dental amalgam (a mixture of mercury and silver). It may eventually break off or wear away so that dentists need to redo it.
Can you prevent tooth decay at home if you have braces/filing down your teeth/other similar treatments?
If you have had braces, filing down your teeth, or other similar treatments then there are ways to still prevent tooth decay at home. The first step is ensuring that brushing and flossing are taking place twice a day with fluoride toothpaste or water. When your braces come off, be sure to continue with this routine even if you feel as though it’s not need because it will strengthen the teeth. And as mention before, flossing is important as well! It removes bacteria between teeth that food leaves behind.
