Best Waterpark in California: GhostSlider at Wild Water Adventure
Most Californians have never heard of Wild Water Adventure, even though it’s one of the best waterparks in California.
Location
For best waterpark in California, the state has some fantastic offerings, but one with a little different take is Ghostslider at Wild Water Adventure. Aquatica San Diego and Raging Waters Sacramento are great options too! Just be sure to reserve your spot early if you’re planning on heading there this summer- they fill up fast!
How To Get There
Getting to Aquatica San Diego is fairly easy, with plenty of free parking and free shuttle buses available. Once you arrive, the line moves relatively quickly. We found the park to be quite clean and well-maintained and had an amazing time as a result. The concessions are expansive and reasonably priced, we love that there’s something for everyone! This makes it an ideal place for a family reunion or birthday party!
Admission
Waterworld California is one of the largest water parks in Southern California and features two enormous pools, vast inner and outer play areas, and a new-and-improved Calypso Cove. It’s divided into six areas with rides, attractions, water slides, volleyball courts, snack stands and some dining options. The park also has lodging packages which are a great option for families who want to spend their day splashing around and then crash out after dark.
Raging Waters Sacramento boasts America’s largest man-made river tubing adventure through whitewater rapids! You’ll speed over 7 miles of natural looking terrain including waterfalls.
Parking & Lockers
Getting to the park can be a little tricky because it’s tucked away off of Highway 99 near Terra Bella. But once you’ve found it, there’s no chance of getting lost! The parking is ample and FREE. To save time, they have lockers that charge an additional fee per day but we recommend using them. They’re located just before the entrance and provide protection from sun and insects for your clothes.
Where To Change Into Swimsuits
The first hurdle you’ll need to overcome to make it to the water park, is to figure out where you’re going to change into your swimsuit. If you have a designated place (ex: locker, bathroom) in your home or office to store your suit, it’s much easier. But for many people, their bathroom isn’t set up for changing clothes (I’ve done this!), and many office restrooms won’t have any lockers big enough for a suit or towel. You could do the whole pack my suit with my clothing and wear a cover-up thing, but then you’ll need somewhere to put the clothes once you come out of the water park as well.
Rides Open When The Park Opens
Waterworld has two slides, Speed Slides and Rainbow Ripples. Speed Slides goes fast and ends with a twist, while Rainbow Ripples is slow and easy. Raging Waters San Jose has many more slides including Rattler Run (the fastest slide) and Renegade Rapids. There are also plenty of other attractions to enjoy.
Bathrooms (locker rooms and porta-potties)
Waterworld, in Concord, CA is worth a visit with dozens of water attractions. It’s also home to some of the best water slides ever designed like Tomb Raider and Raging Rapids that stretch up to 70 feet high and 756 feet long. Plus, it has some really great locker rooms and porta-potties. But if you’re looking for more San Jose area options, Raging Waters San Jose is the place for you. They have a variety of water rides plus the Spider Web – one of their signature attractions which sends thrill seekers soaring 75 feet above ground and reaching speeds of 55 mph on four different slides. You can find great locker rooms and porta-potties too!
Stuff You Can Do Before You Hit The Slides
Waterworld California is one of the best waterparks to go to if you’re looking for family fun. First of all, they have a really big wave pool that always has waves. Second, they also have a lazy river that has kids areas and foot rests so it’s easier for kids to relax on their tube as they float around the lazy river. Third, there’s lots of slides for people to enjoy too like the Screaming Serpent which I’m sure sounds scary but trust me it’s worth it and will make you scream with excitement from its descent down!
Staying Out All Day Without Breaking A Sweat?
In the middle of a sunny day, you and your friends have just spent hours on the rides at Wild Water Adventure’s newest attraction – GhostSlider. Designed by Intamin, the slide sends guests zipping down a flume into a large super bowl before you drop through the center into a pool below. As fun as that sounds, be sure to grab lunch or dinner from one of their many restaurants before tackling this new ride!
If you’re looking for something thrilling to do this summer or want to take your kids somewhere they won’t get bored with the water slides, Wild Water Adventure is a favorite of Central California/Fresno locals thanks to everything it has to offer!

Where’s the biggest waterpark in the world?
A recent poll on the best water parks in the world has determined that the biggest water park, by far, is located on Sentosa Island in Singapore. The previous biggest park, Aquatica , was not eligible for this poll because it is located outside of America. I was fortunate enough to visit them a few years ago and can say that this water park is quite large with a great atmosphere and will keep you busy for many hours. There are many rides to choose from as well as activities and eateries. All-in-all, if you want to spend a whole day or more in one place then you won’t be disappointed with your experience here.
