How to Improve Your Home Theatre Experience

While going to the movies is undeniably fun, there is nothing quite like getting cozy on your own couch at home and settling in for a cinematic experience with home theatre. Of course, to be able to truly enjoy yourself, you have to make sure that each and every element is taken care of. This means that you need the right equipment and should also be aware of just how to place all the parts and pieces. In case you are confused about what to do, here is everything that you need to know:

What You Need

Let’s first look at all the equipment that you are going to need to have the best possible experience. As you can imagine, have a high-definition television is perhaps what is most important. After all, you need to be able to see every detail of the movie clearly.

After this, though, the most significant aspect is the sound. As you are probably aware, it can be very difficult to enjoy a film if the sound quality is either poor or garbled. One of the best options for you here is a soundbar as it actually contains multiple speakers in one unit. This is an especially good choice if your TV room is rather small and you don’t have much space to play around with. If you want to pack a little bit more punch, at least where the sound is concerned, look for a sound bar that is also equipped with a subwoofer.

Setting up The Equipment

There is nothing quite as annoying as having the glare of sunlight bounce off of your TV. This usually ends with you having to draw the curtains and watching the movie in complete darkness. If you don’t want to have to resort to this, then it can help to pay attention to just where it is you are placing the television set. So, make sure to avoid any places that are directly opposite to windows. You should also beware of artificial lighting elements such as lamps as well.

If you have decided to go with a subwoofer, it is imperative that you don’t keep it in a confined space such as a cabinet. Here, the reverberations will be difficult to bear. Instead, keep it on the floor, so that it isn’t contained by walls.

Setting up The Furniture

It isn’t just the position of the equipment that you have to be concerned with, however. You should also be careful about where you place your furniture. Fortunately, there is a formula that you can follow for this. First, measure the diagonal length of your TV screen and then, multiply this number by 1.5 to 2.5. The answer that you get will tell you just how far your couches, chairs, and other seating arrangements can be placed around the television. So, imagine that you have a 45-inch television – then you will need to keep the chairs around 1.7m to 2.8m away from the set.

These are the main things that you need to know when trying to create the perfect home theatre experience. With just a little bit of effort, you will be able to change your viewing practises completely.
