Living in rural Georgia, one could be forgiven for thinking that the state government does not care about its citizens. Those of us living in rural locations have to deal with a number of challenges, the solutions to which we are often required to devise on our own.
Economic growth, salary growth, and academic success are all hampered by the current lack of universal internet access. Where high-speed or even dependable internet is uncommon, if at all, how are pupils to complete homework, adults to hold modern employment, and businesses to locate?
Despite this and other challenges, we must elect officials who will fight for the improvement of our region rather than those who will only look out for their own interests or the interests of wealthy donors.
Schools throughout Georgia
The best places to live in Georgia, I can witness to the fact that our state senators and representatives have consistently failed to fulfil their pledges to bring new investments or increased funding to North Georgia. We need actual results, not just more promises to take action.
I’m excited to cast my vote for a candidate who has shown she can be relied upon to deliver on her promises for the area. Stacey Abrams has proposed raising teacher compensation to $50,000 and giving full funding and support for our schools throughout Georgia in order to attract and retain qualified teachers. Educators and students will benefit from increased funding for public schools because they will have access to better facilities and equipment.
Abrams’s plan also includes working with local governments to bring service to places like ours that currently lack it. The current political class may immediately begin spending money that has been granted but not spent in order to attract good jobs, new families, and additional investment. Abrams hopes that places of worship, schools, and libraries, and possibly institutions like UNG, would work together to bring internet access to rural areas.
She wants to improve access to healthcare in rural Georgia
because she thinks everyone should have a chance at a long, healthy life. Medicaid expansion may bring in $4 billion in federal dollars, money we already pay for but never benefit from under Brian Kemp, to help keep hospitals functioning, lower the cost of doctor visits, and make healthcare available to more than 500,000 Georgians. She also has a plan to persuade medical experts to practise in less popular areas, so that every town and county has access to a paediatrician or family doctor to keep our kids healthy best places to retire georgia.
The locals take pride in their town and the area’s natural beauty; they deserve a government that works for them rather than against them. I’m happy to cast my vote for her because I think she has what it takes to be the leader North Georgia needs to bring in new business, improve the region’s infrastructure, and renew hope.
